Without breaking the bank .

Welcome to my skincare blog, where frustration meets professionalism in the quest for clear and radiant skin that stays.

As someone who’s spent the last few years suffering with acne, acne scaring and hyperpigmentation I know from experience how much the skincare industry can feel like a maze designed to keep us guessing. Countless brands vying for attention, each claiming to possess the ultimate solution for flawless skin. But how do we separate the gimmicks from the genuine game-changers? That’s where this blog comes in.

I’ve had enough of the smoke and mirrors. My mission is to cut through the noise and provide you with reliable information that you can trust. No more falling victim to misleading marketing tactics or biased endorsements. I’m here to give you the real deal.

The rise of Tik Tok has its pros and cons regarding skincare. On the one hand, it has been incredible in showcasing the effectiveness of current skincare products however, after purchasing a few from reviewers I felt as though the performance of certain products were exaggerated (which I fear is mostly due to paid partnerships). Although this is not the case for all reviews from the app! There are many useful things I have learnt which I will test and post here on my blog.

My reviews and rankings are always either based on products that I’ve tested myself or aggregated from trusted sources i.e. dermatologists. I sift through the overwhelming amount of information to bring you concise, up to date reviews and rankings that won’t break the bank (because God knows I have). I’ve got your back, and will never compromise on honesty and authenticity.

Regardless of where you are in your skin journey you deserve skincare advice that is straightforward, transparent and unbiased. I understand your frustration and we’re here to channel it into a professional pursuit of skincare knowledge to ensure you never have to regret another purchase.

Knowing your skin type

If you don't know your skin type that's okay!

With combination being the most common and accommodating to both oily and dry skin, it is completely safe and effective to use products aimed for combo skin if you’re unsure of your skin type. However, it is always best to know your skin as much as you can therefore, I’ve linked a quick quiz down below to help you get started!

Dry

A dry, cracked or noticeably flaking surface are all indications that your skin is not operating normally.

Oily

The over production of an oil known as ‘sebum’ in our pores is what results in an oily skin type.

Note: When treating oily skin it is vital that you do not strip the skin of good oils such as, ceramides which keep our skin supple and its barrier healthy.

Combination

Combo skin can manifest in several ways, but the most frequent is dryness across the entire face with oily spots appearing where there are larger pores, such as the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin i.e. the T-zone.

Normal

Normal skin is rather uncommon as It indicates that your skin is completely balanced. the difficult part is maintaining it. It’s all about finding products that are just perfect, neither too rich nor too drying. So, whilst being balanced in the middle of the scale may feel blissful, one wrong move may topple it.

I love to collaborate and test new products. Let’s talk!
